Good bye Ginger

This little girl, we named her Ginger.
Her tail is striped and her belly is white.
She purrs on command and lays on your lap,
but beware cause she steals hearts.

Yesterday, my sister brought this little creature home after finding her a few houses away. We wanted to keep her but I already have 2 cats. So we decided that we would take her to the cat shelter when my mom got home later that night. In the meantime I fed her and played with her. What made me fall to my knees was when I left her in the living room to sleep and she appeared in front of my bedroom door, scratching and meowing. As soon as I opened the door she climb up my leg and straight to my neck. She was so cuddly, I died. I spend the rest of the afternoon sitting next to her, where she purr and slept on my hand.

Later that night when my mom got home, that's when all hell broke loose. I never seen my mom in such a nasty mood. She grabbed poor ginger and threw her out the door! After a heated argument between her and I, my sister went and looked for Ginger. Fortunately, she found her and we decided to take her back to the abandoned house we had found her at since we didn't have a ride to the nice shelter. Now I sit here, and wonder what will come of her. I wish her the best and I hope she comes visit.

  4. This reminds me of the poor kitten I decided to adopt because her mother died few days after her birth. However, my mom doesn't like pets in the house, and she asked our chambermaid to take it away without me knowing. When I noticed her disappearance, I asked our maid and she told me that my mom gave it away. I was very sad. I just hope she will find a loving family to take care of her. So, I really feel what you are feeling.

  5. Thank you all for your lovely comments. I feel sad that I didn't have the chance to take her to the shelter! The Good thing though, is that my neighborhood is cat friendly. There are a lot of old ladies who leave out food for strays. So I know she will be better off her than in another town.

  12. You're definitely right about Ginger stealing hearts, as she has already stolen mine. I adore cats and I wish I could have taken her :)

  13. Hoepfully you can still take her to a no-kill shelter and maybe a family can take her home for Christmas.
